 PORT VALVE LEVER COVER
Ref Number:  1-35
Part Number:  13138-37001
Description:  The "kidney-shaped," aluminum cover is specially designed to fit snugly over the critical port valve system assembly. This thick cover protects both port valve levers #1 and #2, both #1 and #2 return springs, guide spring #3, and the main actuating valve shaft from accidental damage (i.e. road debris or weather from interferring with its proper operation). "This cover is very important and should be on at all times."
Service Tip:  1. - Lubricate all port valve assembly parts thorougly with silicone at least once each year. 2. - The Philips head screw securing the dog leg retaining band for the cover is usually found tightly frozen. Loosen with an impact driver first, then apply Never Seize to the threads.
Note:  Rotary Recycle does have some special, high-polish covers in stock for show or go.

 Main Case Gasket
Ref Number:  2-02
Part Number:  11487-37000
Description:  Replacement of the Main Case Gasket is strongly recommended when installing a new proper unit or rebuilding an existing one. The purpose of this gasket is not only to join the main case and engine unit tightly together, but also to keep separate the oil and waterway passages from mixing with each other and damaging the engine.
Service Tip:  Apply a thin coat of grease on the main case surface. This will keep the gasket in place to prevent walking.

Part Name:
 CLUTCH COVER GASKET (Master)
Ref Number:  2-10
Part Number:  11482-37001
Description:  When it becomes necessary to split the right-hand clutch case cover, the large, master gasket should always be replaced. Even though you may be luckly enough to remove it in one piece and though it looks good, this gasket has now been disturbed and is weakened by removal. Reuse of the old gasket will eventually result in oil or antifreeze leakage. This, in turn, can cause excessive internal engine damage. Don't take a chance on a 25-year-old gasket; use a new gasket and save yourself a headache later on.
Service Tip:  When installing the new clutch cover gasket, thorougly clean both surface areas where the gasket will seat. Next, apply a thin coat of Vaseline or grease to the main case side. This helps seat the gasket and ensures a positive fit. Then place the gasket in its proper position. Press gently so the gasket sticks to the grease. Mount the clutch cover, and tighten the allen screws in a criss-cross pattern to ensure an even pressure case fit.

Part Name:
 CAP, GENERATOR INSPECTION
Ref Number:  3-16
Part Number:  11381-37000
Description:  Removal of the "Suzuki" name plate cap, located on the face of the generator cover, allows for access to check the timing advance during a tune up. This cap is also taken off during restoration and cleaning. The biggest problem found with this plate is the two mounting screws, which have a tendency to freeze up. This makes if very difficult to remove the plate at times. Thus, some plates become scratched/damaged during the process. Weater oxidation and engine heat also take their toll on this plate in the form of pitting and modeling.
Service Tip:  Always replace the two screws securing the plate, and apply Never Seize to the threads for easy future removal.

Part Name:
GENERATOR INSPECTION PLATE SCREW SET (2)
Ref Number:  3-17
Part Number:  02111-05087
Description:  Removing the "Suzuki" generator inspection plate mounting screws often leads to gouged or chipped screw heads. These two mounting screws have a tendency to "freeze up," due to the combination of high engine heat, weather, and age.
Service Tip:  Apply Never Seize to the two new screw threads for easy future removal.
Note:  Sold as a set of (2).

Part Name:
 ENGINE SPROCKET COVER
Ref Number:  4-08
Part Number:  11361-37001
Description:  Though the Engine Sprocket Cover is thick, durable, and well made, one would think it would never need replacement. Under normal riding conditions, this should be true. However, the arch enemy of the sprocket cover is the massive, #630 drive chain. For if the chain binds up, gets thrown, or jumps a sprocket, this cover is automatic history.
Note:  Rotary Recycle has some "special," high-polish Engine Sprocket Covers in stock for show or go.

Part Name:
 ENGINE OIL CASE
Ref Number:  4-18
Part Number:  11511-37000
Description:  One would not think that the thick, heavy-duty engine oil case would ever need replacing. But more often than not, the answer is "yes it does." This is due in part to improper servicing (such as placing a lift jack under the case and causing stress cracks), road debris which punctures the case, and the biggest cause is pavement rash from spilling the rotary in an accident.
Note:  Rotary Recycle does have some special, high-polished engine oil cases in stock for show.

 GASKET, COUNTER WEIGHT COVER
Ref Number:  5-02
Part Number:  11485-37000

Part Name:
 TIMING INSPECTION CAP GASKET
Ref Number:  5-12
Part Number:  12759-37000
Description:  Periodic timing inspection removal of the inspection cap often leads to a damaged gasket. This is caused by the heat of the engine and oil splashing up against the cap base, which sometimes fuses both gasket and cap together. Replace the gasket if it is torn or cracked.
Service Tip:  Apply thin coat of light grease or Vasoline to gasket, and use Anti-Seize on cap bolts.

Part Name:
 CARBURETOR AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD
Ref Number:  6-01
Part Number:  13110-37001
Description:  The hefty Carburetor Air Intake Manifold is one of the parts on the RE-5 Rotary that is almost never is replaced. This is due to its protective location and the extra heavy-duty thickness of the cast aluminum. Occasionally a replacement is needed, due to an accident, sometimes found missing, or broken on project bikes.
Service Tip:  Remember, whenever servicing the Air Intake Manifold, it's best to replace the gasket.
Note:  Rotary Recycle has some special, high-polished, Air Intake Manifolds available for SHOW bikes.

Part Name:
 CARBURETOR GASKET
Ref Number:  6-11
Part Number:  13125-37001
Description:  Proper carburetor performance is based on a tight, solid, carburetor-to-manifold gasket fit. Air leakage caused by elongated stud holes and torn, cut, or frayed gaskets will result in unsteady idles and erratic engine performance in medium/high-speed ranges.
Service Tip:  When servicing the carburetor, always use a fresh gasket. Also, if a new insulator "B" block is installed, two gaskets are required (sandwich).

NOS:  $4.00    Add To My Cart

Part Name:
 CARBURETOR STUD BOLT
Ref Number:  6-13
Part Number:  01411-08308
Description:  Stud Bolt "C" is one of three that secures the hefty RE-5 carburetor to the intake manifold and is located at the bottom, rear base of the carburetor. Replacement of Stud Bolt "C" is occasionally noted due to corrosion or over tightening of the mounting nut, which results in stripping of the threads.
Service Tip:  When replacing stud bolts, apply Lock-Tite to the inner threads and Never Seize to the outer. If the inner threads on the manifold are stripped, a heli-coil will correct the problem.

Part Name:
 AIR INLET HOSE CONNECTOR
Ref Number:  6-16
Part Number:  13871-37000
Description:  The large, aluminum air inlet hose connector (or "air horn") attached to the left-hand side of the carburetor draws in huge volumes of fresh-filtered air so that the proper ratio of mixed fuel and air is supplied to the primary and secondary bores. More often than not, this large air horn is replaced due to accidental damage.
